9-speed gearbox coming Friday, July 23, 2010 Mercedes-Benz is developing a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Premium carmakers already use 8-speed transmissions in their large-engined vehicles, to cope with the high torque and smoothen the driving experience. M-B says the new transmission will also significantly improve CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. |
